What to Expect when you're Graduating

Device Retention and Buyout Options

Graduates of SU will receive an email from IML@su.edu outlining options regarding their iMLearning devices before graduation. There are three main options available:

  • Keeping  your Device: If the graduate has completed at least 8 semesters of enrollment, they are eligible to keep their device at no additional cost. Along with this, they will receive instructions on how to remove SU settings from their device.

  • Buyout Option: For those who do not meet the eligibility criteria to keep the device, the email will detail buyout options to retain the device after graduation.

  • Return Option: Graduates who do not wish to buy out the device or are ineligible to keep it must return the device to the university. The email will include detailed instructions on how and where to return the device, along with deadlines for doing so.

Loss of Access After Graduation

Once your student record is closed by the Registrar's Office, access to certain university resources will be limited or removed within an hour. These resources include:

  • Google Drive: Storage space will be limited to 1 GB.

  • Microsoft Office: Access will be removed.

  • Online Library Resources: Access will be removed.

  • Storage Resources on University-Owned Servers: Access will be removed.

Retained Access After Graduation

After graduation, you will continue to have access to the following services:

  • Email: Your SU email account will remain active.

  • Hornet Hub: You will retain access to Hornet Hub for managing alumni-related services.

  • Password Reset Portal: You can continue to reset your password through the SU Password Reset Portal.
