iPadOS 15 Now Available

iPadOS 15 is here. It brings some great new features including Quick Note. With Quick Note, you can jot down information over any app or screen using the keyboard, Apple Pencil, or your finger. It's great for research! Vastly improved multitasking, the ability to put Widgets throughout your home screens, a new Focus mode, and more are part of the update.


Before you update, we recommend you check with the developers of your critical applications for compatibility with the new OS. If you decide to update, please back up your iPad using iTunes or iCloud Backup before you do.

macOS Monterey

Apple will be releasing macOS Monterey, the next version of macOS, this fall. Institutional Computing has been running beta versions for several weeks and it is buggy. Once the final release is available, we will continue testing it with the university’s applications such as Google Drive, Canvas, Examsoft/Examplify, SPSS, Hornet Hub, the wireless network, etc.


Please DO NOT update your Mac to Monterey when it is released as you may experience issues that prevent you from performing your school and/or work activities.


Please wait to update until we are able to confirm the OS is compatible with SU systems and apps. Once we are able to confirm compatibility, we will notify the SU community that it is okay to update.

In our new support portal, you will find services and information provided by Academic Computing Technology, Institutional Computing, and Transformative Teaching & Learning.

The Service Catalog provides information on the services offered by the departments, such as what the service is, who it is for, and how to access or create a request for the service. Examples of services would be macOS Support, Canvas Course Merges, and Event Support. You can think of services as things you need (e.g., a new computer, access to the wireless network, a microphone for an event) or need help with (e.g., computer not working properly, a problem with Canvas).

The Knowledge Base contains how-to guides and additional information on our services offered. For example, we have articles on how to install Microsoft Office, how to connect your device to the wireless network, how to reset your SUnet and Google passwords, and many other things.
