OIT Statement on macOS Sonoma and iPadOS 17

iPadOS 17 Lock Screen

iPadOS 17 Available

iPadOS 17 is here and features a redesigned Lock Screen and interactive widgets; intelligent new features in PDFs and Notes; updates to Messages, FaceTime, and Safari; and the all-new Health app.

Before you update, we recommend you check with the developers of your critical applications for compatibility with the new OS. If you decide to update, please back up your iPad using Finder on your Mac or iCloud Backup before you do.

Early adopters will report issues to Apple, and most of the significant issues will be resolved within a few weeks with another update.

macOS Sonoma - Approved

Apple released macOS Sonoma on September 26. The Office of Information Technology has been running beta versions for several weeks, and we will continue testing it with the university’s applications, such as Google Drive, Canvas, Examsoft/Examplify, SPSS, Hornet Hub, the wireless network, etc.

macOS Sonoma is now approved for use at SU. For more information on upgrading, please see our article "Upgrading to macOS Sonoma."
