Use the Logitech Tap IP touch controller to start and control Zoom meetings, share content and adjust the room camera, microphones and speakers. The Logitech Rally Bar provides the room camera, microphones and speakers.
Start here: Tap the Tap IP screen to wake the room. Use the controls on Tap IP touch controller rather than the buttons on your laptop.

Meeting runs on: The laptop; the Rally Bar becomes the laptop's camera, microphone and speaker. |
Screen sharing and Logitech Extend are not the same. Screen sharing sends only laptop content to the Zoom Room. Connecting Logitech Extend temporarily places the room in laptop/BYOD mode and gives the laptop control of the room display, camera, microphones and speakers. Do not start the same meeting on Tap IP and the laptop.
Quick Start: Scheduled Zoom Meeting
- Find your meeting on the Tap IP Home screen.
- Tap the meeting, then tap Start.
- Confirm that the room microphone and camera are on.
- To present, tap Share Content and follow the instructions on Tap IP.
- When finished, tap End, then End Meeting for All.
If the meeting is not listed, tap Join and enter the meeting ID and passcode.
Start or Join a Meeting
Start a scheduled meeting
- Reserve the room and include the Zoom meeting in the room's calendar invitation before class or the meeting.
- On Tap IP, tap Home.
- Tap the scheduled meeting, then tap Start.
Only meetings scheduled for this room appear on the controller. If your meeting is missing, use Join or confirm that the room was included in the calendar invitation.
Join with a meeting ID
- Tap Join.
- Enter the meeting ID.
- Enter the passcode if prompted.
- Tap Join.
Start an unscheduled meeting
- Tap New Meeting.
- Invite participants from the meeting controls or send them the meeting information shown on the display.
Share Content
Share from the Zoom app
This is the preferred method for a laptop connected to the university network.
- Start or join the meeting on Tap IP.
- Open the Zoom Workplace app on your laptop and sign in.
- Select Share Screen.
- If Zoom detects the nearby room, follow the prompt to connect. Otherwise, tap Share Content on Tap IP and enter the sharing key and meeting passcode shown there.
- Select the screen or application you want to share.
Your laptop shares content into the room meeting. Do not also join the meeting's audio from your laptop; doing so can cause echo and feedback.
Share from a web browser
- On Tap IP, tap Share Content.
- On your laptop, go to share.zoom.us.
- Enter the meeting ID or sharing key shown in the room.
- Follow the prompts to select and share your screen.
Share with a room cable
If the room has a labeled HDMI content-sharing cable:
- Start or join the meeting, or tap Share Content for a presentation without a meeting.
- Connect the room's HDMI cable to your laptop. Use an approved adapter if your laptop does not have an HDMI port.
- If Tap IP asks where to send the content, select Share to Meeting so remote participants can see it.
- Disconnect the cable when finished.
To include laptop audio, select the HDMI connection as the laptop's sound output. For a video clip, open the sharing options on Tap IP and enable Optimize Full-screen Video Sharing.
Connect the Zoom App to the Room
Join from a room
Use this option when the meeting should use the Rally Bar for audio and video, but you also want the Zoom app on your computer for chat, participant controls or screen sharing.
- Start the scheduled meeting on Tap IP.
- Sign in to the Zoom Workplace app on your computer.
- Select Meetings, then select the meeting.
- Select Start v and then Start from room.
- If Zoom does not find the room automatically, enter the sharing key shown on the room display.
- Use the computer for chat, participant controls or sharing. Continue to use Tap IP and the Rally Bar for the room's microphone, speakers and camera.
The Zoom app disables the computer's audio and video for this companion workflow. Do not turn the computer's microphone or speakers back on in the room. Starting computer video ends companion mode.
Use the computer as a room controller
Use this option when you want the Zoom app to act as an additional controller for the room.
- Sign in to the Zoom Workplace app.
- Select Rooms in the upper right.
- Choose from options such as New Meeting or Share Screen.
If auto-sensing is enabled in the room, the steps above may vary slightly.
Control the Meeting
The main meeting controls appear on Tap IP after the meeting starts.

| Control |

| Audio |
Turns all room microphones off or on. |
| Video |
Turns the room camera on or off. |

Some controls appear only when the room is the meeting host or when an administrator has enabled the feature.
Adjust the Camera
- During a meeting, tap Camera Control.
- Choose an available automatic framing mode or choose Manual and use the arrows and zoom controls to frame the room manually.
- Tap Done to return to the meeting controls.
If the room has more than one camera, tap Switch Camera and select the view you need. Camera names and automatic framing options vary by room.
Change the Display Layout
- During the meeting, tap View.
- Select the available layout that best fits the meeting, such as speaker or gallery view.
- When content is being shared, use the available content and participant layout options to emphasize the presentation or the people in the meeting.
The choices depend on the number of displays and the room's Zoom settings.
End the Meeting
- Tap End.
- Select End Meeting for All when the meeting is complete.
Select Leave Meeting only if the other participants should continue without the room. Stop sharing and disconnect any room cables before leaving.
Use Your Laptop to Run the Meeting
Use these steps only in a room equipped with a labeled Laptop, BYOD or Logitech Extend USB-C connection. This mode lets you run Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet or another meeting application from your laptop while using the Rally Bar camera, microphones, speakers and room display.
- Connect the room's labeled USB-C cable to your laptop.
- Select BYOD Mode on the Tap IP touch controller.
- Open the meeting application on your laptop.
- In the application's audio and video settings, select the Logitech room device for the camera, microphone and speaker if it is not selected automatically.
- Use Tap IP to mute the room microphones, adjust volume and control the Rally Bar camera.
- End the meeting on your laptop, then disconnect the USB-C cable. The room returns to its Zoom Room home screen.
Do not start the same meeting on Tap IP and the laptop at the same time. During laptop mode, only the Rally Bar's built-in camera is available unless the room has been designed for additional laptop camera sources.
Common Problems
| Problem |
What to try |
| The Tap IP screen is dark |
Tap the screen once and wait for it to wake. |
| The meeting is not listed |
Tap Join and enter the meeting ID, or confirm that the room was included in the calendar invitation. |
| Remote participants cannot hear the room |
Tap Unmute on Tap IP and confirm that the mute indicator is no longer active. |
| The room cannot hear remote participants |
Raise the volume on Tap IP. If using laptop mode, confirm that the Logitech room device is selected as the laptop's speaker. |
| Remote participants cannot see the room |
Tap Start Video. Open Camera Control if the camera is aimed incorrectly. |
| Laptop sharing has no sound |
Select the sharing connection as the laptop's sound output, or enable Share sound in the Zoom sharing window. |
| There is echo or feedback |
Leave computer audio or mute the laptop's microphone and speakers. Use the room microphones and speakers. |
| Copyright-protected video shows a black screen or does not play while sharing |
Zoom does not support HDCP-protected content, so it cannot be shown through Zoom wireless sharing or sent to remote meeting participants. If the room has Logitech Extend, connect the labeled USB-C cable and use laptop/BYOD mode to play the content locally on the room display. Playback depends on the content provider and the room display's compatibility. |
| Laptop mode does not start |
Disconnect the room cable, wait a few seconds and reconnect it. Confirm that the correct room source is selected. |
| The room does not return to Zoom |
End the laptop meeting and disconnect the USB-C cable. Wait for the Zoom Room home screen to return. |
If the problem continues, contact classroom support and provide the room name shown on the display. Do not open administrator settings, unplug room equipment or restart the Rally Bar unless support asks you to do so.
