All Shenandoah University owned Macs are currently managed by a Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution named Jamf. We have recently acquired a newer MDM solution named Kandji. All Macs will therefore need to be migrated from Jamf to Kandji. This document will explain the steps for completing the migration, so you will know what to expect during this process. *Please make sure to review these instructions completely before starting the enrollment process.
Please make sure that your Mac has macOS Sonoma (14.0) or newer installed. If you have an older macOS installed, please make sure to update/upgrade your MacBook before attempting to perform the migration process, to avoid any migration/enrollment failure.
If you are not sure if you have been enrolled in Kandji, please check the menu bar at the top of your screen for the Kandji icon.
- Open Jamf Self Service from the icon in your dock, or double click the app icon in your Applications folder to open, and log in using your SUnet username and password.
- Select Featured from the menu on the left, and select Install Migrate to Kandji.
*At some point during the enrollment process you may be be presented with additional notifications. Please refer to Enrollment Notifications the end of this document for instructions. Failure to select the correct option may delay enrollment, or cause enrollment to fail.
- When the Jamf policy has finished the user will be presented with the Remote Management screen, and should select Enroll.
- Enter your MacBook password when the Setup Assistant prompts you to do so, and select Enroll
- After selecting Enroll, you will be asked to log in again with your SUnet username and password. Enrollment will begin after you log in successfully.
- When Enrollment complete appears, select Quit.
- You can also Quit Self Service.
- After a successful migration you should now see the Kandji Self Service icon in the menu bar at the top right of your screen.
- When you want to open Self Service, select the icon in the menu bar, and select
Kandji Self Service to open.
